Online, as in person, our mission remains the same: to relentlessly pursue God’s plan of salvation for the Jewish people. We want to engage with Jewish people with the gospel where they are and inspire others to do the same.

Philosophy and Goals

As a ministry, we engage Jewish people with the gospel, equip them to follow Yeshua (Jesus) and inspire others to do the same. On LiveChat, we prioritize engaging with open, unsaved Jewish people in fruitful spiritual discussion and turning those chats into in-person visits. Our secondary objective is to educate the church, encourage them in their faith, and equip them to share the Messiah for themselves.

While chatting, we always want to come off as passionate, confident, and approachable. We may occasionally use humor on LiveChat to alleviate tension, to endear, or simply to show our personality, making it clear we’re joking.

Setting up your account

When you receive the email invite, click on the link from a desktop or laptop (not phone/tablet*) and you will be directed to a web page where you can setup your own password.

If you want to use your phone or tablet you can install the app to do so, but you need to first login on their website, then you will have a login to use with your phone if you want.

We do not recommend using mobile for your primary chat device because it can be cumbersome to have a spiritual discussion on your phone. Instead think of your phone as a pager that lets you know when people want to chat, and you can begin the chat, then move to a desktop, laptop or tablet to have a full discussion.

You can switch back and forth from all the mediums seamlessly.

Account Settings

Setup

To receive a LiveChat account, you must request an invitation by emailing [email protected]. Once you receive the email invitation, you’ll be able to set up your own password. Do not sign up on the LiveChat website for an account.

Profile Settings

When your account is setup you will have the following fields filled in for you:

Missionaries:

  • Name: First and last name
  • Job Title: “Jewish Believer in Jesus” (JB missionary) or “Believer in Jesus” (GB missionary)

Volunteers:

  • Name: First name and last initial
  • Job Title: “Jewish Believer in Jesus” (JB volunteer) or “Volunteer” (GB volunteer)

Profile Image

The Jews for Jesus star logo will automatically be set as your profile image. We encourage missionaries to upload a clear and friendly portrait for more personable online engagement. If a volunteer would like to use a personal portrait, too, it can be submitted to [email protected] for approval (it must be at least 225×225 pixels).

Notifications

Customize your alerts by going to your profile > Notification Preferences. We recommend ensuring that “Incoming chat” and “Play a sound every time I receive a notification” are selected, and everything else is deselected so you’re not inundated with notifications.

Here’s where you turn off accepting chats. You should do it 10-15 minutes before you want to leave if you have lengthy chats you are already engaged in. 5 minutes before leaving if you don’t have any chats. It’s on your profile on the bottom right, click on the profile and then toggle “Accept chats” to be off/greyed out.

Settings: Setting up detailed view in Archives

When looking in the archives, it is super helpful to view the chats in detailed view.  This way you will see a preview of the tags, and how many interactions were in each conversation.  The is helpful for reviewing chats to see which you need to add tags to.

Goals for our Chats

Why do we do live chat?

  • To evangelize
    1. Ask people who they think Jesus is.
    2. Share the gospel in our chat. Say something like: “The Bible says that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is God, that He came to die for your sins and mine, and incredibly, that He rose from the dead. Do you believe that?
    3. Ask people if they would consider the gospel and if they would like to continue the conversation by email or phone. Ask people if they are Jewish.  Ask for their full name and email and note the city that the chat says they are from if they don’t want to give their address (which most people won’t).
  • To educate the Church
    1. Explain the need for Jewish evangelism
    2. Invite people to receive our Newsletter to learn how they can share their faith and how they can pray for our ministry. Ask them for their full name, mailing address (if in the US) and email address. If they do not live in the US, ask them if they would like to receive our e-Newsletter.
  • To encourage the body of believers
    1. Pray for believers who contact us through LiveChat
    2. Ask them to pray for us

Chat Tips: Response Times and Chat Management

  • Only six chats agents may be logged in at one time. If you’re done chatting, log out to ensure others can log in and chat (don’t just change your status to “not available” or close your browser). To log out on desktop: click on your Profile Image on the bottom left > Log Out > Log Out of All Devices. To log out on mobile: Profile > Log Out.
  • Write short, quick responses. Generally people won’t wait more than twenty seconds for an initial response. If you need a moment, you can respond with, “Good question, let me think about that for a minute,” “Let me look into that for you,” or, if you don’t know how to find the answer, offer to have someone email them an answer.
  • New chats must be answered within one minute or it will be sent to another agent (if available). After six minutes of inactivity, the chat becomes dormant/inactive, and no longer counts towards your available chat slots (e.g. if you set a max of two simultaneous chats and one of your two chats went dormant, you may be sent a new chat). After ten minutes of inactivity on either side, the chat will time-out and close.
  • Prioritize conversations with open, unsaved Jewish people.
  • Qualify Gentile believers quickly, get their contact information, and disengage the chat.
  • Set a higher number of concurrent chats (we recommend three to four) in your chat profile settings, or manually pick up chats from the waiting queue if you’re able to handle more.
  • Missionaries and volunteers can coordinate to chat at the same time, so missionaries can take primarily Jewish chats and volunteers can handle Gentile chats. The chat system automatically prioritizes chat routing this way.

Chat Tips: Getting visitors’ contact info

When people are on a webpage, they will not wait more than 8 seconds for a response. You can say, “Just a sec, let me look up an answer,” “Good question,” or, if you don’t know the answer, offer to have someone email them an answer. Take their name and address and submit the question to [email protected].

If people you encounter are believers, keep the conversation short and encourage them to sign up for our Newsletter.  Take their name and address and submit it to [email protected].

If the visitor is in the US, ask them for their full address and fill out this form on their behalf:

Print or Email Newsletter: https://jforj.org/net/contact/ (don’t share this link with the public)

If they don’t want to receive our newsletter in the mail, offer our email newsletter that goes out once a month with the first newsletter arriving usually within 2 weeks. Ask for their full name and email address and fill out the same form.  Let them know they will receive a confirmation email.

Chat Tips: What if I can’t answer a visitor’s question? No problem, get their contact information…

If you encounter people who ask questions you don’t know the answer to, don’t worry.  Just tell them you would like to connect them with someone who can answer their question adequately.  Being friendly and willing to connect them by email or phone with someone who can get them the answers they want goes a long way for our visitors.

  • If the visitor is a Jewish seeker, we want to get them to talk with one of our missionaries, so if you can get their name and phone number for a missionary to call them, pass it along to [email protected] (see full instructions) and one of our missionaries will happily call them!  If they do not feel comfortable with a phone call, an email address is fine too.
  • If the visitor is a believer and has a question you can’t answer, try using our website search to find an article that is helpful, but if you cannot find an answer, get their contact info, submit it to [email protected] and one of our missionaries or volunteers who knows the answer will answer the question.
  • If the visitor has a specific question about our ministry that is not explained on our about section of our site, you can their email and pass it along to [email protected] with their question, and we will route the question to someone who can answer them.

We always want one of our missionaries to call or Skype unbelieving Jewish people who visit us online. Whenever unbelieving Jewish people contact you on LiveChat, take down their contact info so a missionary can follow up with them.

Chat Tips: A word about accountability

We have an accountability system available called “The Missionary Buddy System” to help guard against the temptations that online chat can introduce. At your request, you can be paired with a missionary or other minister so that you can have support, prayer, and encouragement. Your buddy will also review of your chat logs to give you advice, feedback and tips.

We do have logs of all the chats so that they can be reviewed, but email/phone communications are not monitored. For this reason please do not have conversations outside of the LiveChat system with our visitors.

Only Jews for Jesus Missionaries are allowed to carry on conversations by phone or email.  Missionaries should report their own LiveChat ministry to their direct supervisor on a regular basis.

Quick Responses

Need to write a quick response?  While in chat or in the tickets, just type # and the start typing codes below and they will display so you can select and respond with these common phrases.

  • #Salvation Prayer – God, I acknowledge that I’ve sinned against you. I believe that you provided Yeshua as an atonement for me as the prophets foretold. Thank you, God, for reconciling me to yourself, for cleansing me of my sin, and for giving me eternal life through Yeshua’s sacrificial death and resurrection. Amen.
  • #Newsletter Ask – Would you like to get our monthly newsletter? It will keep you up to date on what’s going on in our ministry and how you can pray for us, allow you to learn more about the Jewish roots of your faith, and even help you better share the Messiah with your Jewish friends! I would love to send you the print copy in the mail.
  • #Newsletter Yes – Great! It comes in the mail and to your inbox once a month. Can I have your full name, address, and email?

If you’d like, I can wait here with you until you’ve been connected to someone.
  • #Disengaging – It doesn’t seem like you’re interested in an open conversation. In the future, if you’d like to talk more about Yeshua, feel free to reach out, and I’d be happy to chat more.
  • #Donor Thank You – Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support! We couldn’t do what we do without partners like you.
  • #Politics – Jews for Jesus does not support or endorse specific political parties or stances. There’s one thing for which we advocate, and that’s that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah! In order for everyone to feel safe in exploring the identity of Jesus, we strive to create a space for spiritual dialogue that’s welcoming to people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and affiliations.

Need help explaining the gospel?  Here two Biblical roads (one in the Old Testament and one in the New Testament):

Trot through the Tanakh (Bible books of the Law and the Prophets)

  • #Tanakh-1 sin separates
We are separated from God because of our sins… “but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.” – Isaiah 59:2 ESV
  • #Tanakh-2 all sinned
All of us have sinned… “Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.” – Ecclesiastes 7:20 ESV
  • #Tanakh-3 penalty of sin
The soul that sins is destined for eternal death… “Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die.” – Ezekiel 18:4 ESV
  • #Tanakh-4 sin separates us
We cannot rectify the separation from God by performing good deeds… “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.” – Isaiah 64:6 ESV
  • #Tanakh-5 blood sacrifice
Restoration can only be effected through a blood sacrifice… “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.” – Leviticus 17:11 ESV
  • #Tanakh-6 need Messiah
The only efficacious sacrifice is the Messiah’s death and resurrection… “Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” – Isaiah 53:10 ESV

Romans Road

  • #romans-a  – All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
  • #romans-b – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Messiah Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
  • #romans-c – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us. Romans 5:8
  • #romans-d – If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10

Create your own quick response:

If you don’t find these responses above useful, the best way for you to take advantage of the feature is to make your own set of quick responses. When you write something you like, you can add it right away from the chat, or go back to the archives later and add it. You can also just click to create one like the image below, and then just change it to whatever you want to make a custom response.  Make a list of the ones you want to use so you can remember them while you chat.

Tagging Discussions

During or after a chat, use the Add Tags button at the bottom to add relevant tags. These allow for more effective follow-up, for agents to see tags associated with returning visitors, and for us to search and analyze past chats so we can improve the chat experience. At the end of your chat session, review your chats in the archives and make sure they all are tagged.

You may be wondering, “Why should I tag discussions?” Here are a few reasons:

  1. Tagging helps us understand what visitors are interested in and what their background is so we can followup with them effectively.
  2. When visitors return, you will already know their background based on the tags others have added.
  3. We will be able to determine how well our chats are doing and devise strategies to make then even more effective.
Don’t forget to tag your chats after each interaction!

The most important tags we want to have on every chat if possible is:
  • Are they Jewish?
  • Do they believe in Jesus?
Every chat should have one of these tags
  • UJ-(A,B,C)
  • JB
  • UG-(A,B,C)
  • GB
This means you are going to need to ask questions to find this out while you are chatting with them.
These two questions will also help inform how you can share the gospel (for UJs and UGs) or to get them connected with the ministry (JBs GBs).

Return visitors may already be tagged in this way, and in tickets, they may have already identified themselves as Jewish to the auto-agent. If not, and if you truly cannot determine from conversation if the visitor is Jewish or Gentile, believer or unbeliever, tag it with “Tags Reviewed.” Add as many additional tags as are applicable to your chats. You can start typing in the first letters of a tag to find the one you’re looking for and quickly select it.

At the end of your chat session, review your chats in the archives and make sure they all are tagged.

  • Hostile – someone who harbors animosity, but who is not necessarily intentionally wasting your time or attacking you

How to determine Jewish or Gentile, believer or unbeliever:

Technical Hints:

  • Look at their conversation with the Robot.  Did they say they were Jewish to the robot?
  • Click on “View All Chats” in the right column of the chat to get more information if they had past chats where they were tagged or self identified already.
  • Look at their location, do they live in a city that has a high Jewish population? This will help you inform your tag, but don’t rely only on this. Jewish people are scattered throughout the world, but are more densely populated in major cities.

Jewish Hints:

  • People can be evasive and not want to answer if they are Jewish. The first hint as to whether they are Jewish is if they don’t want to answer if they are Jewish.  Gentiles don’t care as much.
  • You can find out from context and asking innocent questions that will help determine whether they are Jewish, just in their language and the way they refer to God and the Bible is vastly different from the Christian gentile and a Jew.
  • Even simply asking why they are asking a certain question will reveal if they are doing a Bible study, or seeking from a place of unbelief.
  • You can ask those who do not identify themselves about their religious background so that he can better answer their questions.
  • If they say they have a Jewish parent or grandparent, as long as they have 1 grandparent or more that is Jewish, you can tag them as Jewish.  If they come and say that a DNA test showed they are less than 20% Jewish, mark them as a gentile.
  • If someone is a “heckler” or “Anti-Missionary“, only tag their first chat as UJ-A, but future chats just mark as “heckler” or “Anti-Missionary“. We don’t want to inflate our numbers of UJs with insincere visitors who just come to waste our time.

Gentile Hints:

  • If they use Christian buzzwords like Theology, Apostles Creed, and other theological terms, ask where they were getting their information from. It is likely they are gentile unless they are repeating what a Christian said to them.
  • Christians readily identify themselves with their lingo.
  • If they say they are Jewish by faith (grafted-in, child of Abraham, etc.), clarify if their parents are Jewish. If not, they are not Jewish- mark them as a GB.
  • If they say they are messianic, clarify if they are from a Jewish family.  If not, then mark them as a GB. You don’t have to convince them they are not Jewish, it is just for our records.
  • If they want to donate, they are likely a Gentile believer. Feel free to ask them if they are Jewish, they will not mind. Also thank them for their prayers and support while you are at it!

Final Thoughts on Tags:

  • If you truly cannot determine Jewish or Gentile, believer or unbeliever, tag it “tags reviewed” so that when we review chats, we know to skip that chat.

For detailed explanation of tagging, watch the video below to see tagging in action.

Finding ways to help diffuse difficult people and how to establish ground rules about chats.

There are several techniques we can employ to have better chats when we are online.

Try these methods to have “friendlier” chats especially when trying to disengage. We know it is not easy or even reasonable to like everyone we meet.

Someone once said, “Jesus didn’t say we have to like everyone, but he did say we should LOVE everyone” ?…

We added these as quick responses in LiveChat:

When it becomes apparent that you are not connecting with a seeker, “apologize”:
#sorrycanthelp – “I’m so sorry that I was not able to help you with your question.  I wish there was more I could do myself, but I would be happy to send your question on to someone who can help you. Can I have your email address?”

If they don’t want to give contact info:
#contactjfj – “If you want, you can send your question to [email protected].  I have to go now. God bless you.”

Before ending the chat say something like:
#canthelp – “I hope that you are able to find the answers you are looking for.  Have a blessed day! Shalom.”

If they are being rude or abusive:
#abuse – “This sort of conversation is not appropriate for chat.  I am going to end our conversation now, but feel free to come back another time when we can have a friendly discussion about Jesus.”

Banning warning:
#banwarn – “I have other people who I need to attend to.  I can’t chat with you anymore today.  If you keep coming back, I will need to ban you from the chat.  Thank you for your understanding.”

Banning Abusive Visitors

Don’t hesitate to ban abusive people

Remember you can ban people, Don’t hesitate to do so if they have no spiritual interest and are heckling or trolling. You can ban visitors anywhere from a week to 999 days. Repeat offenders of the above types (if you see the tags in their previous chats) should be banned; you can use your judgement when determining the length of the ban. More on this below.

Here’s how to read your chat window to spot repeat offenders.

Be careful what you say and how you confront people because we don’t want to jump to false conclusions and offend sincere people. If you suspect someone of pretending to be someone other than who they say they are, ask polite questions like “Have you been here before?” or “Was I chatting with you earlier?” If they deny it you can tell them that you “have access to previous chat logs and you can see that someone from the same location was chatting with us earlier.” Usually people will realize you can see through their guise and confess or else they’ll grow hostile.

If they will not abide by civil rules of conversation, feel free to end the conversation, and if they are wasting your time, ban them. If you are not sure about it, ban them for one day. If you are sure they are repeat offenders, ban them for a month or a year or more!

How to Ban Visitors

You can ban abusive people by clicking the “” button on the chat window, then clicking “Ban this visitor” (on bottom right) and then choose how many days.

STEP 1

STEP 2

Note: You can also ban people after the chat, by finding their chat in the “Archives” section (use same method as above while viewing a chat in the archives).

Using Visitor Info in LiveChat to Figure help determine sincerity of visitors.

Here are the tools we have at our disposal to help us determine someone is a heckler or anti-missionary.

1) The best way to find the same person in multiple chats:
  • Personal info given in the chat (name, email, phone, location)
2) The second best to identify the same person in multiple chats – Cookie information:
  • Cookie information stored by LiveChat (“View all chats” button to see all chats by the same device) This only works if cookies are accepted, or not cleared between visits. What info is in those chats?
    • Device Type (same or different? Version of device is updated periodically)
    • Browser (same or different?)
    • Browser version (browsers versions get updated weekly)
    • Pages visited (same or different?, does the page topic match what they asked about?)
    • Reference Page (is it a suspicious source page?)
    • Any information they tell us in the chat: (name, email, phone, location)
    • Do they have some matching personal info, but inconsistent professions (Jewish/Gentile/Believer/Unbeliever/Hostile/Friendly) between two or more chats?

3) The last resort to identify the same person (least accurate):

  • IP Address recorded by LiveChat (only useful with other info matching above because)
  • IP addresses are reused all the time now when people use any kind of privacy filter that changes their IP address.
    • Many people use multiple devices, desktop, laptop, tablet, phone to access chat, and therefore all the device details, IP address, cookie info, will not necessarily match and they can still be the same person, but we need personal info to corroborate.
    • Some countries like Sweden and others don’t even have dedicated IP addresses for personal internet, but rotating IPs which makes it hard to use IP addresses to track the same person.
CONCLUSION:
If we don’t have enough hard evidence to confirm someone is a heckler, we want to make sure to email or call them to qualify their sincerity.

Transferring Chats (hint: don’t do it – take a message instead!)

Please don’t transfer chats because other operators may be logged in but not available to chat. If someone has a question you can’t answer, ask for an email address and email the transcript with the question to [email protected], and we will follow up. You can email the transcript after the chat is closed from the archives section.

Sensitive Topics

Discussing Politics

Jews for Jesus does not support or endorse specific political parties or stances. As we strive to create a safe place on LiveChat for fruitful spiritual engagement, we refrain from engaging in political conversation or sharing any content that might suggest political leanings.

Policy regarding chatting with minors (under 18 years old):

Policies Concerning Minors: Jews for Jesus does not knowingly collect personally identifiable or contact information from any person known by us to be under the age of 18 unless we receive prior written parental consent.  Jews for Jesus does not knowingly contact or maintain a correspondence with any person under the age of 18 without prior written parental consent.

IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18, WE MUST HAVE WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN BEFORE YOU MAY CHAT ON THE JEWS FOR JESUS WEBSITES.

The reason why we put this policy in place, is because Jews for Jesus wants to be above reproach when it comes to dealing with the Jewish community.  We don’t want families to come to us and accuse us of trying to “convert” their children.  We cannot keep minors from visiting our website, but we can make sure we identify minors and limit our interactions with them.

If you are in a conversation with someone you think is a minor, confirm their age and politely end the chat if they are under 18 years old:

Look for clues as you speak to someone if they say they are researching or studying, or talk about living at home, these should be indicators for you to tell whether someone is possibly under 18, at which point you could ask them their age before continuing a conversation explaining that we do not chat with minors without parental consent. We can give young people a link to an article they are looking for, but we do not want to engage those who are underage on a deeper level without parental consent.

We wrote a specific quick response so that we can notify those under 18 about the need to have parents permission to chat.

#18 – At Jews for Jesus, we do not knowingly chat with people under 18 years old. If you are under 18 and would like to communicate with us directly, you need to provide written permission from your parent or guardian.

Physical, Verbal, and/or Sexual Abuse

  • If you are chatting with someone who you suspect is being abused:
    • Tell them that this is a serious matter and that you are obligated to report it.
    • Ask for his/her name, age, address (if unwilling, ask for city), and phone number.
    • Ask if you can pray for them.

Submit this information to [email protected] so it can be reported to national abuse authorities.

  • If you are chatting with someone who you suspect is abusing others:
    • Tell them that this is a serious matter and that you are obligated to report it.
    • Ask for his/her name, age, address (if unwilling, ask for city), and phone number.
    • Encourage them to turn themselves in to local authorities.

Submit this information to [email protected] so it can be reported to national abuse authorities.

Suicidal Visitors

If the visitor expresses suicidal thoughts or plans, encourage them to call the US National Suicide Hotline at 1 (800) 273-8255 or the international hotline number in their country. You can do this by using the Quick Response #Suicide Prevention (feel free to edit it to include only the appropriate hotline number). If you feel the person is in imminent physical danger, encourage them to call 911 (US) or local law enforcement.

Tips for qualifying sincerity of abusive claims:

  • See if their story lines up. Play detective and ask them when things happened and see if they can keep their story straight.
  • Ask them what city they are in. See if it matches with where our tracking matches.
  • Ask them why they would say something like that (shooting their child)
  • Tell them that what they are telling you are serious and that you are obligated to report them. (There isn’t much we can do, but if they give you enough information, we can report them to the local authorities)
  • Ask them how old they are. If they are a minor, then we need to encourage them to tell their parents. If they are being abused, then they should contact the police.
  • Ask them if you can pray for them.
  • Encourage them to turn themselves in, or seek help.

When you choose Jewish-Gentile Couple- the contact will automatically be submitted to Tuvya Zaretsky, so there is no need to submit the contact to him manually.

Publication Subscribe
IMPORTANT: Only choose to subscribe UJs to publications if they explicitly asked for our “Learn Emails”, otherwise do not select, we want the first point of contact to be from a missionary, not an automated email.

JB contacts that are really UJs!

Stewart Weinisch (Missionary in NY), who follows up with many of our UJ and JB contacts we get on chat reports that many of the JB’s he contacts turn out to be UJs who are ready to accept Jesus, but have not done so yet.  When you meet someone who says they are Jewish and a follower of Jesus, ask a few qualifying questions to see where they are in their faith.

When someone tells you they believe in Jesus, ask them how long they have been a follower, and if it has not been more than a few years, qualify them with the following type of question:

Who is Yeshua, Jesus to you? – they may believe one or more:

  • He is God in Flesh
  • He is a Prophet
  • He is The Messiah, King of Israel
  • He is all of the above
Here is the contact information you will need to provide so that we have the most helpful information possible for following up. The more we can tell our missionaries about the person, the easier it will be for them to connect with them on a personal level.

Conversations with Unsaved Jewish People

If someone says they are Jewish, prioritize the conversation over GB and JB conversations. Believers will be more patient in waiting for a response. Use the tips below to qualify the openness and sincerity of the Jewish person early in the conversation.

Common Reasons UJs Chat with Us:

  • Curiosity about the beliefs of Messianic Jews
  • Advice for an argument with a Christian they know
  • Research on a Jewish subject (some may have come via a Google search and may not even realize they’re on the Jews for Jesus website)
  • Understanding their GB partner better/advice on their Jewish-Gentile relationship
  • Wasting our time

How to Talk to UJs on Chat

  • Questions you can use as conversation prompts:
      • Shalom! What brings you here today?
      • I see that you indicate you are Jewish—is that correct?
      • What is your spiritual background?
      • How did you hear about Jews for Jesus?
      • What are your thoughts about Jesus?
      • If you’re interested, I’d love to tell you how I came to believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah!
      • (Make one for yourself) Hey, I’m ____. What’s your name?
      • I see you are viewing our article about _____. Do you have any questions about it?
    • Lead the conversation to who Jesus is according to the Scriptures.
  • See if they are willing to connect in person, by phone, or by email.
    • If they’re not open to conversation or providing their contact information, be respectful and polite as you disengage the chat. Try something like:
      • “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to help you with your question. I wish there was more I could say now, but I would be happy to send your question on to someone who could help you. May I have your email address?”
      • “I hope that you’re able to find the answers you’re looking for! Have a blessed day! Shalom.”
    • If they’re open, get their contact info and follow these steps.
      • Missionaries: take the contact and follow up yourself or send to another missionary, enter their contact information and enter it into Wingman. (If you are passing the contact to another missionary contact them directly and make sure they can follow up right away. If you don’t know who to pass them to, you can fill out the form in the volunteer instructions below).
      • Volunteers: Bookmark this contact page, or from the LiveChat Chat or Archives section, click on the Notebook icon > Submit a Contact > Select the UJ/JB tab > fill out and submit form so they can be connected to a missionary.
      • If a UJ visitor wants to follow up with a missionary and/or be subscribed to “Learn Emails
        :
      • Privacy Note: Because of European privacy laws, we can’t receive personal contact information via chat from European visitors. Instead, encourage European visitors to fill out the form on one of the following pages (whichever is the most relevant): France, Germany, Hungary, or UK and other EU Countries.

How to Approach Jewish Professions

We don’t know how the Holy Spirit is working in people’s hearts, but we need to do our best to understand what takes place when a person prays with us in chat to receive the Lord.

When we qualify a Jewish person who we think might want to make a profession of faith in Jesus in chat, we want to confirm the following things:

  • Get details about their Jewish background (e.g. Ask them if they were raised Jewish, if they have Jewish Parents, what branch of Judaism they identify with, etc.)
  • These are the elements of the Gospel you want to discuss with them to be sure they understand what it means to accept Jesus as the Jewish messiah.
NOTE: Use quick responses “Trot through the Tanakh” (#tanakh-1-6) and “Romans Road” (#romans-a-d)  – for full reference and explanation:
    • Our Sin separates us from God (see Isaiah 59:2)
    • Do you acknowledge that you have sinned against God? (see Ecc. 7:20)
    • Do you accept that God provided Yeshua (Jesus) as an atonement for us as the prophets foretold? (see Romans 5:8)
  • Ask them if they want to pray with you:
    • You can acknowledge that typing in chat is a bit unusual, but that it would be helpful to “see/hear” their prayer. Are they willing to type it in?
    • If they don’t want to type their prayer, you can offer that they pray silently. In either case, you should follow up and ask them what they prayed and then talk more with them about it afterwards.
  • Here are some salvation prayer elements to include:
    • #Salvation Prayer – God, I acknowledge that I’ve sinned against you.  I believe that Yeshua’s death and resurrection provide an atonement for me as the prophets foretold. With this prayer, I receive Yeshua as Messiah and Lord. Thank you, God, for reconciling me to yourself, for cleansing me of my sin, and for giving me eternal life. Amen.

What to do after a Jewish person prays to accept Jesus

  • If they’re willing to give you a phone number, bring in a staff person into conversation through phone or video call to talk about their new faith.

Say something like: Is it okay with you if we call someone (if they’re available) so you can tell them what you just prayed? We’ve been praying for you and others like you.

  • Do your best to get their email/phone! This is critically important so we can encourage the visitor to grow in their faith.
  •
  • Let them know that we would love to setup a weekly meeting with our staff to do discipleship

Say something like: I’d love to connect you with one of our Jewish staff who can meet with you, and talk about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and help you get to know him better.

If you can’t get their email/phone, then tell them a bit about each of the following:

  • Pray daily
    • Take time every day to pray and speak to God. Tell Him about your day and talk about your encouragements, challenges, and doubts. Take time to listen  for God to speak to you, in relation to what you read in the scriptures (eg. Psalms, Proverbs, Gospels, etc.).
  • Start reading the New Testament
    • Specifically encourage them to read one of the gospels, like John or Mark.
  • Find a local fellowship that teaches the Bible and has small groups
    • It’s really important to find a community of other believers in Jesus that you can connect with locally so that you can talk about your faith and learn from others what a daily walk with Jesus is like.

Chatting with Female Jewish Ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Seekers

Common Reasons Female Ultra-Orthodox Chat with Us:

  • Curiosity about Jesus and the possibility of leaving their Ultra-Orthodox community
  • Looking for help to leave the Orthodox Community
  • They are already a secret believer but cannot leave the community because of their kids

How to talk to Female Ultra-Orthodox on Chat

  • If someone wants to learn more, and need someone who understands their situation, give female inquirers/contacts this number: 1-954-361-5355.
    • This will link the woman directly to our consultant (her pseudonym is Sarah), who will be our ‘first responder.’
    • Having come out of the Haredi world herself, she will be able to share as an insider and one who has been in their position.
    • She will then assess the sincerity of the person (and protect us from those who intend harm), do a ‘needs assessment’ and then be able to hand the contact to one of our staff.
    • In this way she will also vouch for us as safe and trustworthy people.

IMPORTANT: Please do NOT encourage anyone to leave their community or family prematurely or make any promises of help from the ministry. It is never wise to leave in fear or in anger or to spite or run away. Instead, encourage her to call Sarah who can walk her through the steps to make a good plan. This is best practice for our safety and our reputation.

It is never inappropriate to offer a word of prayer, but it might be best to keep it on the shorter side.

The following security guidelines related to Haredi ministry are intended to protect our Haredi Team missionaries, their contacts, and the entire ministry.

  1. We protect the anonymity of contacts and missionaries.
  2. We take extra precautions when scheduling church meetings and handling inquiries.
  3. We communicate as positively as possible about the Haredi community.
  4. We do not engage in unnecessary communication about our Haredi ministry activities
  1. We protect the anonymity of contacts and missionaries.
    • We do not use real names of Haredi contacts or the real names of our missionaries working in Haredi ministry.
    • We do not publish front-facing, unblurred photos of the faces of Haredi contacts or the faces of our Haredi team missionaries.
    • When doing deputation, missionaries and other JFJ staff should not mention any specific location, contact names, or people groups related to Haredi ministry.
    • In external publications, we keep stories as vague as possible but with enough detail that the story is not without purpose or point.
    • All Haredi contact records in BBEC and Wingman must be marked “Do not contact (per JFJ).”
    • Do not invite Haredi individuals to our offices or offer any direct physical help or advice without first consulting one of the Haredi team leaders.
  2. We take extra precautions when scheduling church meetings and handling inquiries.
    • All inquiries about our Haredi ministry or team members, including direct inquiries – spiritual or otherwise –that come from Haredim, should be forwarded directly to the Haredi team leaders: Laura Barron or David Liebman.
    • When making deputation meetings for Haredi Ministry Team missionaries, church engagement coordinators must discuss the following arrangements:
      • The church should not publish names or pictures of Haredi Team missionaries online or in print publications. Protocol should be followed for all deputation opportunities whether Haredi specific or otherwise (e.g., CIP Tour). If names and association with Haredi Ministry are not included, churches may promote the event online.
      • Recordings of the message may not be uploaded to church websites or any other online forum.
      • Livestreaming of the service is permitted only if member-only platforms are used.
  1. We communicate as positively as possible about the Haredi community.
    • We do not speak in any way that is disparaging about any Haredi group or their practices.
    • We always communicate with the assumption that our material will be read by members of the Haredi community, including authorities and those who oppose our work.
    • We do not use extreme/hyperbolic language when discussing ourselves or the Haredi community.
    • A Haredi ministry leader should be invited to review and give input on ministry communication pieces that talk about Haredi ministry.
  1. We do not engage in unnecessary communication about our Haredi ministry activities.
    • Information we share must be thoughtfully limited on a need-to-know basis only, both about our contacts as well as Haredi ministry plans and projects.
    • Sensitive information must never be shared with family and friends in writing, and discretion must be exercised when doing so verbally with anyone, including ministry staff members.
    • We do not mention Haredi ministry activities on personal social media platforms.
    • We do not publicize numbers of JP’s or baptisms in Haredi communities.

Chatting with Jewish Believers

Common Reasons JBs Chat with Us:

  • Bible research
  • Tips on how to share about the Messiah with their UJ friend
  • Advice on their Jewish-Gentile relationship

How to Talk to JBs on Chat

  • Ask about their spiritual and Jewish background and how long they have been a believer (who is Jewish in their family).
  • Dig deeper into their faith. Just because someone says they are a follower of Jesus doesn’t mean that they believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is God, and that He died and rose from the dead. Clarify this with them so we might disciple them properly.
  • Find out what they know about Jews for Jesus, so you know better how to get them connected or involved with Jews for Jesus, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
  • If they’re interested, get their contact info and follow these steps.

If a JB visitor wants to follow up with a missionary and/or be subscribed to “Learn Emails” or our newsletter, get their contact information and enter it into Wingman. If you’re a volunteer, click on the Notebook icon > Submit a Contact > Select the UJ/JB tab > fill out and submit form so they can be connected to a missionary.

Because of European privacy laws, we can’t receive personal contact information via chat from European visitors. Instead, encourage European visitors to fill out the form on one of the following pages (whichever is the most relevant): France, Germany, Hungary, or UK and other EU Countries.

Chatting with Gentile Believers

GBs come to chat with us for a variety of reasons:

  • Researching a Bible topic and found us on Google.  They likely do not know anything about Jews for Jesus’ ministry.
  • GB Looking for witnessing tips for UJ Relative/Friend
  • In a relationship with a UJ, or looking for help to minister to a Jewish/Gentile couple
  • Pastor working on Sermon
  • Deputation request from pastor

Lead the conversation to these points.

  • Find out if they are visiting because they have a Jewish friend or because of a Jewish/Gentile Relationship
    • They might ask something like, “I am looking for a messianic congregation” – find out why, see if you can help them with their issue, more than just googling a congregation.
  • If they have a specific research question, (and don’t sound like a student doing religious studies homework- don’t do their homework for them!), help answer their question or send them links to helpful articles (also notice what page they are on — more often than not, they are already on the best article to answer their question).
  • Encourage them to explore the Jewish roots of Christianity by subscribing to our Newsletter which will keep them up to date about our work, tell them how they can pray for us and get involved, and help them witness to their friends.
  • Disengage to keep slots open for incoming UJ conversations.
  • If they seem like they have a lot of questions or are hung up on an issue that is taking your time, turn the conversation on them and tell them the main reason why you are on chat- to share the Gospel with unsaved Jewish people, and ask them to pray that God would bring Jewish people into the chat who are open to considering Jesus. If they persist in asking questions, let them know you need to end the chat so you can focus on evangelism.

Identifying Jewish/Gentile Couples

Just because someone says they are not Jewish doesn’t mean they aren’t visiting because they have Jewish friends, or are in a Jewish Gentile Couple relationship.

For example if someone says “do you know of any Messianic Congregations in my area” instead of just saying “no” maybe say “I don’t. But I might be able to share other resources – why are you interested in visiting a congregation”

Answering questions and taking contacts

If a GB visitor has a question you can’t answer and/or be subscribed to the Newsletter, get their contact information and enter it into Wingman. If you’re a volunteer, click on the Notebook icon > Submit a Contact > Select the GB tab > fill out and submit form so they can be connected to DRUM. Ask for their full name, mailing address, and email address—ideally, they’ll want to be signed up for both the mailed and emailed Newsletter. The first mailed Newsletter usually arrives within 2 weeks, and the emailed Newsletter goes out once a month.

Because of European privacy laws, we can’t receive personal contact information via chat from European visitors. Instead, encourage European visitors to fill out the form on one of the following pages (whichever is the most relevant): France, Germany, Hungary, or UK and other EU Countries.

Chatting with Jewish-Gentile Couples

Why do Jewish Gentile Couples come to our website?

  • GB looking for help understanding UJ spouse/significant other
  • UJ looking for help understanding GB spouse/significant other
  • Parent/Relative/Friend/Pastor looking for help to minister to couple

Many people visit our site because they are in or know someone who is in a Jewish-Gentile relationship and are looking for help. They may need help talking to their partner, have theological questions prompted by conversations with their significant other, or simply be looking for a nearby messianic congregation. In such conversations, we utilize our Jewish Gentile Couples sub-brand by saying something like this:

“I’d love to get you in touch with Jewish Gentile Couples, a free service made possible by Jews for Jesus. All of the coaches are affiliated with our ministry and are specially trained in intercultural relationships and their unique challenges.”

When submitting a Jewish-Gentile couple contact for follow-up, select the “Jewish-Gentile Couple” box in the contact submission form or send contacts directly to [email protected] for follow-up.

Jewish by Discovery

We meet a lot of people who just found out they are Jewish, and they are not our primary ministry audience. It is a case-by-case situation, but our primary ministry focus is for Jewish seekers who have had a Jewish identity and have “Jewish” objections to the gospel.

If someone tells you they just found they are Jewish (family member told them they are Jewish, or they took a DNA test that showed Jewish lineage, or something along those lines, here’s how to determine how to direct them.

  • Those who seem like they are a believer in Jesus, but don’t have much Jewish cultural identity can be forwarded to Carolyne Rohrig: [email protected] – She will connect with them and help with their questions.
  • Those who have discovered they are Jewish and have developed a strong Jewish identity over a few year’s time, and you think they might want to find ways they can serve serve with Jews for Jesus,
  • Those who found out a few years ago about their Jewish heritage and have been exploring their Jewish identity but don’t seem like a believer in Jesus
    -or-
are getting to know their Jewish family and looking for ways to share their faith with the Jewish unbelieving family.
    • Send these contacts to a local Jews for Jesus branch for followup, or to Rob Wertheim ([email protected]), if not near a local branch.

What to say to Pastors in LiveChat

  • When you meet a pastor, ask them (the # are quick responses you can use in chat)
    • #pastor1  – “Have you had a Jews for Jesus presentation at your congregation before?”
    • #pastor2 – “Our missionaries tour the United States and beyond sharing about Christ in the Passover and other excellent topics that will bless your congregation.”
    • #pastor3 – “If you are interested in finding out more, I would love to connect you with our Church relations representative who can give you all the details.”
  • When getting their personal contact information, get the name of the congregation in which they serve, as well.

Speaking about Denominations

We all may disagree with certain aspects of other denominations teachings than our own personal denomination but we need to be very careful to not engage in conversation around denominations in chat.  For example, there are Catholics who are genuine believers just as much as there are plenty of Protestants or Evangelicals who in reality are just cultural Christians and not what we identify as a believer. We should avoid stereotypes.

Be careful not to speak out of your own experiences with different denominations (or even negative experiences with Judaism) as if they are authoritative experiences. Example: “this was my experience, which led me to Jesus. I know there are a variety of ways that God works to bring people to Himself”.

Continuing the Catholic example… we understand that many Catholics leave the church feeling that they had been participating in something sub-Christian. But the Catholic church is very large and much more diverse than Protestants (or even many Catholics) realize.

A rule of thumb for answering those who ask about distinctions between any Christian denominations—especially when the question seems to be asking about potential areas of conflict—should be to try to largely sidestep the question.

Example:

Visitor: What distinguishes Jews for Jesus from Protestantism/Catholicism in practice?

Chat Agent: You’ll find Jewish believers in Jesus in pretty much any Christian denomination (some more than others). And some Jewish believers are in specifically Messianic communities which are ordered like a synagogue. (#donimnations catholic)

If a visitor expresses past bad experiences with Catholicism, that can open up more discussion on the matter. But we should be careful not to make any blanket statements suggesting that Catholics aren’t Christians.

Our general attitude should be:

The Catholic church is a Christian denomination. And as with any Christian denomination, you will presumably find some people within it who are more committed to the core faith in Jesus and some who are perhaps not really committed to that faith at all.  But since we don’t have any Catholics on our staff, we can’t say much more authoritatively about it.

If a user asks if Jews for Jesus are Christians, you can say something like this:

Some Jewish believers in Jesus do not identify with the term “Christian” because some people misunderstand it as synonymous with Gentile. Most of us who use the term are quick to clarify that we are Jewish and Christian. At the core of Christian faith is belief in Jesus as the Messiah of Israel and savior of the world. That’s a faith that all Jewish believers in Jesus share. And all true believers in Messiah Jesus constitute a single worldwide community that will ultimately be united in him—despite whatever denominational differences we might distinguish us today. (#denominations are jews for jesus christians)

Mormons, Jehovah’s Witness, Christian Scientist

If it comes up, we should distinguish Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness, and Christian Scientists as not Christian. Though we need to do so with a careful and generous spirit.

We can say something like:

Actually, that group does not hold to the core beliefs of faith in Jesus that are described the New Testament. If you’re curious about the key differences I could put you in touch with someone on our staff who is more versed in theological distinctions. (#denominations mormon, jehovah’s witness, christian scientist)

Disengaging from or Shifting the Conversation

Don’t give insincere questions straight answers (Proverbs 26:4). Help seekers see their own bias. Try the following prompts to shift the conversation to something fruitful:

  1. How did you come to have this question/become interested in this topic?
  2. What do you think the answer might be?
  3. Do you think my last answer sounds fair?
  4. What led you to contact Jews for Jesus and ask that?
  5. Share with me what you believe. I’d like to hear.

If it’s clear the visitor doesn’t have any interest in having a productive conversation, disengage it. Feel free to use Quick Response #disengage.

Disengaging Anti-Missionaries

In prioritizing conversations with open, unsaved Jewish people, we want to be able to identify and disengage from conversations that aren’t fruitful.

Signs of a conversation with an anti-missionary or heckler may include the visitor:

  1. Asking overly technical, nit-picky, or academic questions;
  1. Replying to your answer quickly with a rebuttal; or
  2. Rapidly firing off new questions before you’ve answered or that are unrelated.

If someone seems to be a “heckler” or “anti-missionary,” only tag their first chat as UJ-A. In future chats, just mark as “heckler” or “anti-missionary” so we’re not inflating our numbers of UJs with insincere visitors who just come to waste our time.

Ministering to Jewish Gentile Couples:

Many people visit our site because they are in or know someone who is a Jewish/Gentile relationship and they are looking for ways to connect better with the other.  Sometimes people will come asking if there is a messianic congregation near them.  Or they may ask theological questions that their significant other has been telling them about, but they don’t understand them.  It is important in communicating with Jewish Gentile Couples to identify these relationships and explain the vast knowledge and experience we have in helping couples like this.

What to say to Jewish Gentile Couples in LiveChat

Here also is a helpful introduction to Jewish Gentile Couples for your reference:

What We Do

  • Our Service: Spiritual relationship coaching for Jewish-Gentile couples.
  • Our Essence – the spirit of JGCFinding spiritual harmony.
  • Our Tagline: There’s Hope for Your Relationship …. All Communication is Cross-Cultural
  • Our Mission: Create understanding between Jewish and Gentile partners in order to help them find spiritual harmony.

Who We Are

Our Manifesto/Brand Story: We’ve been studying, working with, and learning about the unique struggles Jewish-Gentile couples face for almost 20 years. We’ve heard you, and we know we can help. We’re not here to convince you we are right or who is right in the relationship. We want to help you ask the right questions and hear the best answers.

Our Attributes – what we’re like:

  1. Empathetic (welcoming, non-judgmental, understanding, approachable)
  2. Trustworthy (specialist, knowledgeable, experienced)
  3. Fearless (calling out the elephants in the room, not being afraid to deal with the tough/real issues, creating a safe space where people can be vulnerable and speak the truth because that’s what we’re doing)

Our Voice – what we say and how we say it:

  1. Compassionate – assuring, validating experiences and feelings, representing opposing opinions equally, non-competitive but seeking understanding
  2. Confident  – formal, smart, assured
  3. Direct – honest, candid, down-to-earth, approach issues openly

What Makes JGC Worthwhile and Different

Our Driving Forces – what motivated us to create JGC:

Social research told us that couples from different religious or spiritual backgrounds have a harder time staying together. There is a 75% chance that an unresolved set of religious differences will result in marital dissatisfaction or divorce. We believe this doesn’t have to be the outcome. Your relationship doesn’t have to be a statistic.

That’s why we asked Jewish-Gentile couples to describe their challenges. We heard you. We understand the struggles. And we know we can help you find a way to talk about them openly.

Positioning Statement: JGC is a free service that provides spiritual relationship coaching for individuals and couples.

Our Competitive Advantage – Why come to JGC for guidance and not go elsewhere?

We are dealing with both partners with egalitarian fairness. We’re not telling you what you have to do or what you have to believe. We’re offering advice and encouragement that doesn’t tell either of you to dump your spiritual foundation and heritage.

Others slant everything to say, “The only hope is by making Jewish choices.” We are saying there are more options. We take an egalitarian approach so both partners feel equally appreciated and valued.

Our Audience

General Key Markets: Jewish partner of a Gentile, Gentile partner of a Jewish person, parents of either one, Christian partners who are looking for help. Christians parents looking to relate to a Jewish partner of their child.

Target Audience: We most often hear from Christian partners of Jewish people. However our target audience that we want to reach is the Jewish partners of Gentile individuals.

Needs – what needs do our target audience have that JGC will meet:

  • Communication difficulty in relationship.
  • Conflict over major life decisions.
  • Unique challenges in all stages of a relationship.
  • The first challenge often comes when people want to get married and they have to figure out how to navigate the wedding plans and both sides of the family.

Benefits – how will JGC meet those needs and benefit target audience:

We can provide an objective listener and coach to help you work through your specific challenges.

How do you want people to feel when they experience JGC?

  • Heard.
  • Understood.
  • This is a hope I haven’t seen before.
  • This can really benefit me and my partner.

Responding to tickets

Ticket tip #1  You are not required to answer tickets unless they are specifically assigned to you.

Note: Ticket notifications are sent to chat agents by email so they can answer them if they want, but we also have specific people assigned to answer or forward questions. In other words, you can just ignore tickets if you want and rest assured that we will followup with them.

If you are logged into chat and don’t have any current chats, you can always check the tickets tab and see if you want to respond to an open ticket. Just check the assignee column to make sure someone else isn’t already handling it.
tickets1

Ticket tip #2 Don’t assign tickets to other people:

While we have created accounts for most missionaries so that they can chat, many have never logged in and don’t know how to answer tickets.  If you would like to help facilitate tickets, this is the protocol we have setup.

  • In general we do not assign ticket to others because there is no process to make sure that the person will be able to followup.
  • Instead: route general questions to [email protected] in an email and Joel will send it to someone who can answer or follow up.
    • Be sure to include the info from this form so that Joel can route them to someone who can answer the question without ever logging into chat.
    • Put a private note in the ticket and say who you sent it to (Joel, Rob, Emmanuel). Assign the ticket to yourself, and once you have confirmed that the person has been followed up with, mark the ticket as solved.

Tips on answering tickets

  1. No matter how crazy the message is, please respond, if only to say “Thank you” or “Bless you.” The guest knows they left a ticket, and they are waiting to see what happens. I know this from my own personal experience.
  2. Remember to tag your tickets.
  3. If you are awaiting a response from the visitor after you respond to a ticket, leave it as pending. Check in daily to see if there’s a response. After three days, the system will follow up with the visitor automatically to ask them to respond. If the visitor has not responded after one week, you can mark the ticket as solved.
  4. Change the ticket status to Solved and press Send on all tickets after you respond when no other information is needed. If the guest chooses to answer, the ticket automatically re-opens and goes to the agent who first responded.
  5. If you type nothing in the response when you “solve” the ticket, NO message is sent to the guest, however a ticket rating request email is sent out 24 hours later, so be sure to leave a note explaining why you are solving the ticket.
  6. If a ticket is “assigned” to someone and left open, it languishes in the “Open” tab forever.
  7. Notice the Private note toggle. Anything typed in the private mode is visible to other agents, but doesn’t go to the guest. Press Send to submit the incognito remark.
  8. When you solve a ticket because it is a Newsletter request, or you sent it to a missionary to followup, be sure to put a Private note, saying what you did so when others see the ticket they know it how it has been handled (Sent to Missionary, Submitted to Wingman, Signed up for Newsletter, etc.).
  9. If for some reason you copy and paste the ticket into an e-mail to a missionary, please do use the incognito mode to leave a remark, letting the reviewer know who you sent the email to, then “solve” the ticket. Don’t leave it open.
  10. Duplicate tickets can be labeled “duplicate” in a “private” note, and “solved.” No need to answer duplicates twice!
