Camp Rock

By Lydia G. age 12

Everyday after lunch we go to activities and during the first week, one of the options was Camp Rock. For Camp Rock, we made a bunch of instruments out of cans, pots, etc. The first day we had barely any materials until Sneakers showed up and blessed us with pots and pans! The next day, we were able to make many instruments with balloons. After a while, people from Mad Science (a different activity) came out and took some of our balloons and Rahela made a balloon shaped like a peanut and named it Mr. Peanut, which gave us inspiration for the rap song we wrote.

After we had all the instruments, we wrote our song called “The Gilgal Wiggle”. We haven’t recorded the song yet, but when we do it, it might go on Youtube or something. The people who were part of the activity were me, Hero, Achilles, Aaron and Seth. After a while, we finally got to recording the song and most of the camp was in the background, but they only helped with the chorus. Achilles was the one who wrote the song, but everyone helped come up with lyrics. Usually, Maple would come around on her break and help out with making instruments and the lyrics and she even played an instrument while recording. At first we thought Camp Rock would be a total fail, but nope!
