Tribe of Zebulun

What a Mensch Night is a dinner theme where all the tribes make up nice, funny, and clever puns. The point of the night is to be kind to everyone. “Mensch” is Yiddish for being a good person. For example, one of the tribe leaders is Mango so we said, “Mango more like mangorgeous.” If Mensch Nighta tribe says something nice to another tribe you usually say something nice back. Throughout the whole night staff and campers offer to take cups, plates, and utensils, and also to wipe down the tables. This theme night really inspired campers to be mensches throughout the rest of camp. Being mensches shows love, kindness, caring, and compassion for others. I asked Mango what her favorite part of Mensch Night is and she said, “I love being kind to others and I think it’s a very special thing.” I also asked my friend Carrie and she said, “I think it is nice when people are mensches to others.” The most important thing I think is knowing that God loves us, cares for us, and knows that we are precious to Him.
